This really makes me feel old!

RIP, Ashford & Simpson were a wonderful duo in every sense of the word. I had the pleasure of seeing them live when they were in their prime.

A huge loss, I was shocked when I heard this.

He deserves his own thread, but another great songwriter passed yesterday as well--Jerry Lieber of Lieber & Stoller.

I was, too, when I saw it on the TV news last night. Nick Ashford and Jerry Leiber in the span of about a day. Here's to the great songs they spun out!

I just started a thread for Leiber in Misc. - you're right; they both deserve it. The contributions of Ashford/Simpson and Leiber/Stoller are staggering.

Infectious diseases are handled fairly easily most times, and things like cancer, heart disease, diabetes are by products of living longer for many people.
