| The Nick Diaz Experiment

Any MMA/UFC/Strikforce fans out there? Well I'll fill in the ones who aren't. This guy Nick Diaz was the Strikforce Welterweight champ. Well the UFC bought out strikeforce and essentially swapped him over to the UFC. He vacated his titled for a title shot against the UFC WW Champ Georges St. Pierre. Who has won about 15ish fights in a row with 7ish title defenses. He is one of the best in the world.
Nick Diaz on the other hand has won 10 straight and up there as one of the best in the world as well. So they give him a title shot against GSP. The pressers for the upcoming match are this week and this guy no shows to both of them and cannot be found anywhere, even by his trainer of 15 years. This guy left his sons birthday party to go find Nick to make sure he made it the press conference. And. He couldn't find him.
Well Dana White the president of the UFC stripped him of his title shot and probably upwards of a 250,000 dollar pay day, and that's if he lost and not including bonuses.
The UFC took a fighter that was supposed to fight the great BJ Penn and moved him to the Title match which he gladly accepted. He was reported to be so happy he couldn't stop crying.
Now they have told Nick Diaz he is going to be fighting BJ Penn at this same PPV but obviously not for a title and a lot less money.
Whole point of this is, is why do people in such positions take such things for granted? And what are your thoughts. I personally like it, Seems like the UFC is 1 punishing him by making him fight the best BJJ fighter on the planet. And 2 so he can watch the title fight happen right after he loses(or wins lol).
Thoughts?
