Smart folks those ones.
now I really think they need to change focus and concentrate on creating a bass amp that pushes out 400 watts, never distorts, weighs less than 10 lbs can double as a bong and a fridge and makes even a Wishbass sound good.
That will impress me.

That will impress me. | Also have it make my playing sound less crappy. I'd buy it for sure.

during my freshman year when we were learning about the dielectric constant (related to the index of refraction), the professor mentioned that it can actually take values less than unity. for the next ten minutes, we were asking questions about what the hell that would mean. "look... forget that i mentioned it."
there's a bit of research going on about "invisibility cloak" type stuff. i'm surprised to see that we've got it down to the infrared already. i imagine if they fabricate the metamaterial using semiconductor-industry-like methods, they can get the frequencies into the optical range.
...if only i were at berkeley.
oh wait! |

| if it were just a mirror, then you would see yourself in the pool, narcissus-style.
i guess the best way to think of it is like typical refraction. you know that if you dip a pencil into a glass of water, it looks like the pencil bends in the water. i guess the negative index of refraction would make it look like it bends into the air. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
