Since my split with the wife, stress has been pretty heavy and I found myself smoking more and more. I am finding myself feeling like crap and not having the energy or breath to keep up with my "Strong Pimphand" lifestyle so **** them, they are gone.
I had my last one on my way home from the grocery store and I will not buy any more.
I must ween myself from the warm smoky teets of mother nicotine once again

You cant end it if you are on the fence about quitting , strength of mind and an oral deviation from the smokes will make the journey smoother. I wish you all the best

i seem to have channelled some of my nicotine cravings into snacking though. i really must start exercising more. |

I don't remember that one, but so many witnesses..... so many witnesses. I still find the urge is strong in certain situations. But I can honestly say that the my alleged birthday smoke was the only cig I've had since I officially quit. I've quit a bad habit or two in my day, but this is by far the hardest to kick. If there are any drugs harder to quit than nicotine, I hope I never find them. Not trying to add drama, I just believe that fair warning is way better than being caught off-guard by the reality of addiction and withdrawal.
But, in all honesty, the first two weeks was the absolute hardest. Actually, the first 6 days was the worst, with everything waning from that point on. Nothing a little willpower won't overcome, though.

| | | | You can do it. It's been 11 months for me and I smoked for a really long time. Sugar free candies really helped me. |

I've quit smoking almost 9 months ago, many thanks to that book. I've read it a couple of days after I decided to quit. It also worked on my drummer friend, his mother and some other guys in my vicinity.
Good luck!

You could always take up nasal snuff. A different nicotine rush, but none of the bad parts of the smoke!

The main reason many people quit smoking is because of the ADDICTION itself. Smokers need to smoke a cigarette to relax not because nicotine relaxes you, but because when you're addicted to nicotine and lack a dose of it in your body, you're the exact opposite of relaxed. tl;dr: smokers are ALWAYS less relaxed than non-smokers.
Lose the habit, it's the best thing I've done in the last few years of my life. That and buying a Fender MIA Standard J-Bass.

If I learned anything from watching my mom, my dad, and my brother trying to quit time after time.. It's you gotta have a really strong mindset, don't let the urges take you. Also, buy a BIG bag of lolly pops. |
