Norm MacDonald is one funny Canadian

That's all I got, folks. No need to agree or even bother responding. Arguing his comedic genius is like arguing the gravitational constant.

This argument is pointless. I repeat:

What prompted me to start this thread was his performance on the roasting of Bob Sagat.

"Its a big funny hat. It's a big hat. It's funny."

His performance was great. Or rather, his lack thereof. Some of my favorite parts of the show were the reaction shots while the other comedians ripped on him. Priceless.

And though not Norm's line, IMO one of the best of Chris Farley's lines came from Dirty Work: "There's the Saigon whore who bit my nose off!"

"You know all we're missing is Sex With Women!" The worlds first two gay guys might be one of the most tasteless/funny things I've heard in a long time.

I forgot the " My ass is fire. My ass is fire. Oh, My ass is no more, it has been replaced by fire!"

I've never seen so many dead hookers in all my life!

Funny and Canadian? No surprise. Growing up where winter happens often imparts a sense of irony in a lad.

I heard from an inside source that Norm's performance on the roast was done so he would deliberately get cut out of the aired version as he was dragged into doing the roast at the last minute against his wishes. I haven't seen it, but I was told he literally read out of an old joke book.

My favorite Norm moment is an odd one: he was doing the weekly news gig on SNL and at one point, mid-punch line, he mispronounced "Carribean," and after a few chuckles made an off the cuff comment about how there are two two different ways to correctly pronounce that word, and he failed at both. The first time I saw that I busted a gut laughing!

There are so many good lines from his Burt Reynolds impression on Celebrity Jeopardy alone!

I loved how he did "Weekend Update."

I generally abhor roasts, so I didn't watch this one, but this sounds like pure Norm to me; I would probably have been in stitches.

That was the point. He was going out of his way to be vanilla and unfunny. It was just skincrawly... and very brave. Saget and the others were cracking up. I happened to tune in right when he was doing his bit, and I just went ???.... then I figured it out.

I thought it was absolutely hilarious.
