I decided last night to do a recording of my singing to use as a practice for a song I was playing and then I did a reading of some Greek for a friend.
When I played them back I noticed that my speech was terrible and my singing was so bad that I could barely understand what I was singing, which was Heaven In My Hands by Level 42.
This is beginning to really affect me. I don't want to find summer jobs because I know for a fact noone understands a word I will say and I also find it hard to do Latin and Greek recitals.
I also can't do any backing vocals as I know I will ruin the song.
I've been 'cleared' unoficially by a doctor and so I'm unlikely to get any medical answers.
Any ideas TB?

I've been and they can't find a thing wrong with me! Apart from the RSI of course.

Or just concentrate on pronunciation. How now, brown cow and all that. Record yourself doing it and try and improve.

Have you made any drastic changes to your life style?

And "Dave Matthews Band" for that matter. Sorry I have no advice other than to ask a professional singing coach/teacher. |

Any ideas TB? | Are you on any anti-psychotic medications? Or lithium? They can cause slurred speech as a side effect. |
