My old haircut

Since wednesday:

Nothing but benefits, except for the fact that some people (shopkeepers mostly) look at me as if I'm a shoplifter. Today the alarm of a shop went off because I was carrying an item I bought a couple of minutes earlier in another shop. This happens quite often, and in the past most of the owners would go 'whatever' and didn't bother. Not anymore. In a few seconds the entrance was blocked, they searched my pack, etc...

Talk about judging people on their appearance

Is that just cleverly piled boxes or staircase behind you?

I was completely fed up with it.

My hair has never been shorter than say 10 cm.

It's a staircase designed to save space. A 'millman's staircase' I think.

For my fellow Americans, that's just under 4 inches.

You look way less like a douchebag now, that's a compliment. Hope I can say the same for myself, haircut next week. Wish me luck.

wow, is there some kind of weird inverse rule for the shopkeepers where you live? they trust the hippie longhair but they doubt the guy with the short conservative cut? that's bizarre.

Funny, when I was your age and still had my long hair it was the other way around.

When I finely did get my hair cut an older coworker asked me If I noticed people I haven't met before treating me any different. My answer was for the most part, no, but I kind of miss having long hair for that reason. He gave a look. Then I told them, now I don't know who's prejudiced or not.

Yeah I found this a little odd too. Here in America they would almost always question the guy with the longish hair rather than the dude with it buzzed off.

Anyways... lookin' good.

Are you enjoying the loss of weight from your head? I always love how much lighter my head feels after I go from long to short.

But Seriously. I got a hair cut too. not that short. Used to be down past my shoulder blades, and now it's maybe 2 inches long all around?

I got almost 2 feet (60 centimeters) of hair cut off the day before I went to boot camp, almost 10 years ago. Wife (at the time) braided it and CHOP!

Now I look like an adult... dammit... But at least I don't have the wife anymore...

That's exactly what I was thinking as I read this. I was planning to ask that very question when I got to the end. Many years ago, I had long hair, and I had trouble even finding somebody to rent me an apartment. Both of my sons have had long hair, and gotten hassled for no reason (mainly by cops). That's why I found it so odd that the OP's experience was just the opposite. Strange...

Maybe because he looks like he just got out of prison or something?

I can't stand my hair being long. At all. But not as short as the op's. It's maybe 1/4-1/2 inch usually.
