Well, the old toaster oven went on the fritz so Susan and I trudged down to Target for a replacement. It's a beauty, too...Black & Decker 4 slot, chrome & black, presets for bagels, frozen, etc. After setting it up on the counter top, Susan plunked the owner's manual in front of me and said "you'd better read this". I begrudingly agreed.
I was halfway through the pamphlet when it suddenly dawned on me: I'm almost 54 years old and reading a manual on how to make toast. Is this how my life has turned out?
Now for the favor: If you happen to be in the Woodhurst section of Virginia Beach, please drive by and shoot me. I'll be wearing khakis and an antler hat and promise not to take any evasive action. Thanks for the consideration.
Riis

Skies has registered for one. I'd like to get one with 2 extra long slots, so it would fit either 4 slices of regular bread or 2 slices of 'big' bread.

Toaster is for turning bread into toast.
Toaster oven will do the above, but can also be used as a smaller oven for the likes of baking & broiling.
From the OP, it sounds like he got himself a good ole fashioned slotted toaster.

I hate cold pizza, and will use the microwave in a pinch, but I like the toaster oven because its the only way to get it back to its original state without using a fullsized oven.
