And the big guns are shooting blanks lately. Briere, Giroux, Richards, Carter - seems like no matter who you name, they just can't get it into the net lately. Versteeg has 3 goals in 2 games, but needs some help.
And James, I'm beginning to think you might be right about Bobrovsky. He can look absolutely brilliant for 30 or 40 minutes, then give up a softie. I'm just not real confident that Boucher is the answer though either. (Sigh...)
We need a 7 or 8 goal outburst to get everybody's confidence back up. Instead of playing like a confident first-place team, they're getting consistently out-hustled by teams fighting for their playoff lives.

Maybe they need to fall down the standings a couple of notches,...get their backs against a wall as a for real wake up call that there are no easy games in this league and it requires work for all 60 minutes.
O'donnel is not playing like a high +/- defenseman,...and Carle is seemingly inconsistent. Too much standing around like pylons. IDK,...we'll make the playoffs I think,...but it seems like they are trying to finish the regular season out and just get to the playoffs,...like sitting back on a lead in the 3rd period and hope that the other team doesn't score. Play like that will lead to a short postseason me thinks.
Some Flyer fans I've been talking to seem to think that they are resting Boosh for the Playoffs. This seems like a double edged sword....I'd hate for Boosh to get stale just riding the bench while Bobs plays inconsistent to finish the regular season out. I'm not ready to give up on Bob yet,...but I'm beginning to look to the next season or two for him to breakout as the star goaltender we thought he would be. |

I can't believe this has made it to a third thread this year. I guess us hockey fans are coming out of the woodwork this year.

This is what you want to see from a team heading into the playoffs,...getting into their grooves,....building confidence,...heating up and beginning to fire on all cylinders.
Unfortunately the DHS cracked down on the P2P sites I gave you so it would seem the best option is Gamecenter or Center Ice,...for 20 bucks a month to not have access to every single game by way of lame blackout restrictions. I think I'm going to have problems following the playoffs since I don't have cable or an up to date Digital TV/Converter. |

NHLN just finished a great story on Stamkos. He's a good kid.

The defense stayed strong while the offense kind of hung around. I like the energy Dustin Jeffrey brings to the ice, especially on his OT winner. The Staal goal was a thing of beauty how he left Chara out there on an island, just too bad Boychuck had to check Staal into the goal after he scored.
How can the Pens, who have not won a regulation game in over a month. be only two points behind Philly for the top spot in the East???? WOW!
My condolences to the Detroit fans for that debacle in the desert tonight. I just got done watching it.

-Mike | That was a sorry performance. The Wings had zero business going into the third with that lead they way they played. Zetterberg and Datsyuk both seemed way off during the game as well. The Yotes got two points they deserved while the Wings got one they didn't IMHO.

While they were playing physical, it seemed liked the pens were quicker, the Bruins couldn't keep up & had problems getting out of their zone. Krejci's trying goal to put it in OT was certainly exciting. At least they got a point. I'm already excited for Tuesday's game vs. Montreal.

The pacific division is so tight right now; all 5 teams are within a few points and all seem determined to make the playoffs. The Stars have been on a pacific road trip, taking 5 of the possible 6 points so far, with LA on monday night. The last month before playoffs is so much more fun when "my team" is not locked in for a spot. |

The Flu bug is going around the Flyers locker room but I would sure love to see the offense explode so they can get off this 3 game skid. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
