Finally, after a very long regular season we're back into the postseason. I'll be watching, though since I don't care for any of the teams I won't be watching as intently as usual.
My predictions for the AL/NL Divisional Series:
AL: Yankees over Twins Angels over Red Sox
NL: Dodgers over Cardinals Phillies over Rockies
What say you guys? Personally, as long as the Cardinals lose I'll be happy.

I would say the Yankees have an overwhelming advantage over the Twins based upon the fact that they are well rested and they are just plain crazy talented... Twins will go down hard
Red Sox in 5;
Angels look good offensively but they never get it done against Boston come post season... prove me wrong
Phillies in 4;
See paragraph 1- these two teams a bit closer than the Yanks/Twins...
Cardinals in 4;
Cards staff too strong- Dodgers staff really suspect right now... lets see if Manny can carry the Dodgers- He's gonna have help w/ Kemp! |

Detroit was barely a .500 team all season and played .500 ball in the last 20 games, the Twinkies earned it, they won 17 of their last 21 games. If Detroit would have lost 17 of 21 I'd agree. The Tigers had three starting pitchers, their top set up man out all season. They traded for a starter at the deadline and he gets injured. They weren't a great team healthy, but injured they were just a mediocre team with one great starter, two good ones, and an excellent bullpen. Hats off to the Twinkies, who HEALTHY would beat the Yankees. Man I hope the Angels do.

THEN..

World Series:
Yankees over Cardinals in 6.
Yes, I am a Yankees fan but it's really hard to see a team take down the Yankees lineup in a series.

AL
Sox over Angles
Yanks over Twins
Sox over Yanks
NL
Phillies over Rockies
Cards over Dodgers
Phillies over Cards
And your 2009 World Series Champions for the 3rd time in six years - the Boston Red Sox.
That said, if the Angels can get over their psychological hump with the Sox the way the Sox did it in '04 over the Yanks, then the Angels could go all the way. In any case, I think it may be the most entertaining series certainly of the 4 Divisional Series. Captain Obvious and I don't give the Twins much chance against the Yanks.
Whichever AL makes the WS will win it.

I like the ticker at the bottom of the screen. A couple years ago, they came up with the SCORE ALERT feature which was brightly colored and would directly go to a game where someone scored, usually football. Well, they started doing it for important baseball games. OK, cool by me. It's neat to know right when the other team scores.
But no.....that wasn't enough. Now they flash up the attention getting SCORE ALERT graphic, just to show you the score of the game.

Next game will be interesting with CB "Coin Flip" Bucknor behind the plate.

Is your brother a Sox fan? I grew up in western Mass and one of my best friends and my Pee-Wee baseball coaches were Yankee fans However, native Newtonians are very solid for the Sox.
The Yanks are the team to beat; but they can be beaten by either the Sox or Angels - I don't see the Twins or the Quad-A champion beating them.

The Angels look good on both sides of the diamond while the Sox hitters are dazed and confused. I hope a little home cooking will be enough to pull them out of the doldrums.
