I couldn't seem to find any off-road clubs on TB, so let's go! I have a 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. AMC 360 c.i., Chrysler TorqueFlite 727 3-speed auto tranny, New Process 229 transfer case & Dana 44 axles. Let's see your rigs! -Luke

My old lady has a '99 TJ with a 3.5" Skyjacker lift and 31" tires. It's capable enough! -Luke

| | | | I have a couple... First one is a 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser. It sits on 35" tires and will stuff them in the fenders without bending metal. It just goes where I point it. I was mint when I got it. I personally put every scratch, dent, and ding on it.
Next I have my old Ford. Its a '62 "re-issue". It has modern engine, axles etc. Rides on 40" tires. I don't take it out too much, but it does OK for an old rig. I just put 6 new shocks on it.
I spent my truck fund on a new bass rig, so all work has stopped for now on them. |

| | | | Thanks.
Oh yeah. Bigger shock towers and longer shocks. I have 22" of travel. About 7" up and 15" of droop. If I can get 1 front wheel over, the rest will follow.

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Feb 2011 Location: New Park, PA | | | I'll have to see if I can dig up some pictures - back in the early 2000s I was heavily into off-roading. Had a 1988 Ranger on 38" Swampers with 2" of body lift. (sawzalled the fenders out radically). 5:13 gears doubled transfer cases and a Detroit locker in the rear. We used to go to Paragon Adventure Park in Hazelton PA to wheel. That rig did not have much power with a 2.3 4 cylinder but the gearing and double t-cases allowed it to crawl over most anything. |

Mine is a 79 Blazer, 454, TH350, NP205, 14Bolt ff out back, Dana 60 up front, 14" lift and 44" Swampers. Wifey sold her 91 Blazer with 38" Swampers and is riding around in a 98 Z71 with a 3" body lift and 34" tires. |

| | | | I rebuilt a 1980 Scrambler that I absolutely loved and was a good all purpose off road vehicle for me for several years. Had to sell it when I moved overseas, but I still miss that sucker.
I also had a '78 Cherokee Chief that was an absolute beast. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
