The Official TB Photography thread - f/4.0

Excuse me for the rudeness to start a new part, but somebody had to do it, right? :p

Here are a few quickies to get this one rolling...

Wow, are those two fighting on the ground in the second to last pic? I've seem them dogfight in the air, but never take it to the ground. They are quite territorial little buggers.

Yes. It was rather spectacular. This particular day there was an incredible amount of action among the males and the aerials were awesome.
Something spooked the hummer that was winning that battle and he flew off. The loser flew up a few feet to land on a low branch nearby, where he appeared to rest a few minutes then also flew off.

It's days like these that make me wish I had a better/faster camera.

I rarely see two of them on a feeder at the same time, usually when a second one arrives a chase ensues, then one returns.
You did very nicely with the camera you have, those are great pics.

I am a bit disappointed to see the thread is not called f 4.0!

Just for kicks--no plagiarism intended I can take it down

The moderator usually links the other thread I suppose you or they can revise it or not.

I know, but one of the moderators said : ''Somebody go start a new chapter.''

So, why waiting? :) If they close this and / or adjust things, I can understand.

I miss this lens--canon 70-200 f4 (not IS) excellent lens I don't think you really need the bells & whistles for $1K more or whatever it is.

Oh nice. That's quite lovely. My large--or so I thought--desk top monitor doesn't do it justice (seeing it top-to-bottom does it for me with this one).

EDIT:

@Smoakin'Toaster

Indeed. I rarely see them sitting together; if I do, it's a male and female at the feeder. But here's a few along that order.

It didn't last long, however.

Nice!!!

I've got my bait ready, tomorrow I'll go hummingbird hunting!!! (who knows... I might even capture one!)

Kwesi 02-08-2013 11:58 PM

I didn't get to say so in the last thread but HEIST, that picture is FANTASTIC! Beautiful model and beautiful lighting!

Had my first "official" gig a few weeks back and I really like these two shots:

This may be the only good picture I've ever taken.

Here's my hummingbird pic:

Well, since we have a bunch of hummingbird pics, I'll re-post mine (that I think I put in the very first Photography thread). Took these in 2007 when we went to Bar Harbor Maine.

I took these with an HP Photosmart 945 5.3MP camera I think I got in a deal when buying a printer. :)
