Something spooked the hummer that was winning that battle and he flew off. The loser flew up a few feet to land on a low branch nearby, where he appeared to rest a few minutes then also flew off.
It's days like these that make me wish I had a better/faster camera.

You did very nicely with the camera you have, those are great pics.

That's quite lovely. My large--or so I thought--desk top monitor doesn't do it justice (seeing it top-to-bottom does it for me with this one).

Indeed. I rarely see them sitting together; if I do, it's a male and female at the feeder. But here's a few along that order.
