I hate to admit that I been fighting with an ingrown toe nail since 7th grade (I'm 25 now). Always try to grow it out but the second I have to put on soccer cleats they crack and start hurting like hell again.

I went to a dr once about it and the guy just told me "they don't look that bad, just grow them out". Been trying for 5 years and no luck.

Anyone else had the small 'surgery' done to remove ingrown toe nail?

No, but I had to do some nasty work to remove the hanging on remnants of what previously was toenail number 10 last week. That's part of what spawned this thread.
