I think Couture is going beat Vera to a Pulp.
Kang is going to Beat Bisping.
Hardy vs Swick is to close to call.

Please change the title to UFC/MMA thread.

Especially as become more disillusioned by the UFC each passing day.

Looks like Hardy is the next one in line to get his ass kicked by St-Pierre.

its cold as **** and my car is getting repaired, so i will be on the couch watching the mediocre fight card, hoping something exciting happens, or i might just watch something else and snag the fights so i dont have to deal with all that boring in between banter and highlights ive seen a billion times (still cool to some degree i admit).

with andersons surgery, the only chance of a title fight after penn will be in a while. barring injuries, it looks like ufc 109 is the only chance to put in a title fight, and thats in february. 110 is overseas (aus), so theres no way there will be a title fight there. maybe im just impatient, but its either early february, or mid-late march (guess... 111 date not set i dont think) until we see brock or silva defend (and i highly doubt they will be on the same card).

okay, thats about it. the ufc keeps pushing me away to the smaller organizations, even though they will probably go belly up, or have their fighters get bought out. im on the blame dana train, as i probably always have been.

heres to hoping 105 is a heck of a lot better than i expect!

I thought 105 was great for the most part. Most of the matches ended in TKO/KOs, and one of the two fights that went to decision was still fun to watch.

My thoughts on 105..

Michael Bisping shouldn't be considered right back in the race again. He defeated a very poor looking Denis Kang. Kang has looked bad ever since coming over from PRIDE. He's nowhere close to the same fighter he used to be. And when Bisping got up and asked "What happened?" after that straight right, I'm not ready to say he'll be competitive with anyone at the top of the 185 class. Wanderlei or Anderson Silva? Please.. Michael will never be a champ as long as guys of that caliber are around.

Mike Swick just looked bad tonight. Don't know what happened but he didn't show up at all. Hardy did what he had to do and landed some good shots on Swick. In no way did I see anything that would lead me to think he'll be able to give GSP a hard time. That is GSP's division.

Couture vs Vera was lackluster. Couture knew what he had to do and did it. Vera showed no desire to escape the clinch and get out of Randy's game. So Randy held him there and rode out a decision. It worked this time but against Shogun or Machida? I'm not so sure.

Also, I just read that Nogueira is out of his match with Cain Velasquez at UFC 108 due to a recurrence of the staph infection that plagued him before the Mir fight. This is the 3rd attempt at a main event for that event. The UFC's top guns are dropping like flies due to illness right now. Unfortunate.

I was surprised with Swick. He's normally a great fighter to watch (except for that boring Burkman fight). Hardy doesn't look physically impressive, but I guess he's just plain strong to hurt Swick like that. He took a lot of direct punches from Swick and they didn't seem to faze him at all.

He won't be able to shrug GSP's takedowns. I agree with Joe Rogan; it'd be easier to lose that fight than go on to face Georges.

The plot thickens. Lesnar is now facing a second illness aside from mono and collapsed during a recent trip to North Dakota. Currently in the hospital.

The HW class is just ugly right now. Carwin won't be ready to fight until atleast February due to recent knee surgery.
