Ok, it's fun to bash on hipsters I suppose, at one point in time or another I figure we all gravitated to that in one respect, I am no longer remotely a hipster, and take great joy in some of the ramblings on www.latfh.com (warning, may contain bad words)...but now there is a kindred spirit to that site, a bit more subtle, a bit more *classy* in its cattiness...

Just wanted to share as a friend linked me today

http://unhappyhipsters.com/

I dunno, just puttin it out there fer y'all.

I tell you man, some of those houses look like they'd be really cool. Especially that one on those plains or whatever.

As long as you don't throw stones. My Sis in Law has a house very similar to those on a golf course across town. It actually feels weird being so exposed. I like to be able to walk around anywhere in my house in my underwear, scratching my boys

Good Lord. You guys must hate me. I'm a bit of a hispter. I guess. But to my credit, none if it is based in narcissism. I am a design junkie. I started collecting mid century architect designed pieces at 19. And just had a house built - basically a butterfly-roofed white box with large windows, concrete floors, solar panels etc...

BUT - that being said - I really really get annoyed by hipsters...

I do that anyway in front of my massive bay window facing the street, in broad daylight. Every day, after showering.

What can I say? I like looking out and greeting the day, boys in hand.

Oh, and I do love those houses. Looks a lot like no neighbors and some nice land around them. That'd make me pretty happy. Lotsa windows to stand naked in front of.

Hipsters?

Are we regressing to the late 50's, in which Hipsters (aka: Beatniks) wore lots of black (including black berets) and hung out in coffee shops reading Jack Kerouac?

^^That's the image that comes to my mind when someone says "hipster". So if this isn't what it means now then.......

Get ready for it...........

I looked at the site, I still don't get it. What is a hipster? Someone who has large windows in their house?

UnhappyHipster is a really cool site, due to both the humor and the pictures from Dwell's incredible house photographs.

IMHO, I'm safe from this moniker. A Hip Knifemaker would be an oxymoron. I don't wear those thick framed glasses either. I do drive a sportscar though

These are requirements? I guess my gf's dad is not a hipster. I thought hipsters listened to bad indie music. He's going to Coachella by himself, does he qualify?

I have no idea. It seemed like all the people on that site wore those thick black frames. What the heck is indie music and where the heck is Coachella?? You sound sort of hip

I'll admit to being more hip than I care to be. I can't help it, my finger is on the pulse of society!
