When I was about 4 years old, I looked up at the sky as the sun was setting. I used to think that angels lived in the clouds [all discussion of religion aside,] and that memory has been planted in my head as one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in my life, and I think it will remain so for the remainder of it. I just can't get over how beautiful clouds are, whether it's raining, snowing, picnic weather, nighttime, any time. They never hold a consistent form, but they always retain a graceful, beautiful presence.
Here are some photos that get me every time:
Anyway, I don't mean to hog the thread by discussing my fetish for clouds, as I'm sure a few of you have a fetish for some other part of nature as well. This thread is meant to be an outlet for some sublime photos you've taken or want to share for us nature-geeks to gaze at in wonder.
[EDIT: And, for Pete's sake, keep it clean. ]

Srsly though, those are some great pictures. I went out for a walk n a smoke today at sunset, went by the lake, it looked perty. the sun was glowing off the ice, not that cloudy, but a light snowfall. it was cool. |

It's seems like a long time ago but it was just six months...

There were times when we were actually driving above the clouds. I also remember going up to a building in the alps and throwing snowballs at each other, and then an hour later going down to the hotel and swimming in 85 deg. weather. I love the mountains.

-richard | You went to Maui? That's great! I really want to travel outside the continental U.S. within the next 3 or 4 years, there's just too much to see out there.
Cool photos too, particularly that latter one. |

| | That's the way uh huh uh huh I like it.. | | Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Robbinsville, NJ | | I love nature photography as well, I like it simple though - just a walk through my back yard or the woods behind my house. Can't say that I'm actually good at it, I just enjoy it and try to capture the aura or mood that I'm feeling when I see a certain scene.

I love pics like these. It's almost as good as being completely surrounded by all that the Great Earth Mother has to offer. |
