Get a slab of koa and cut a bass shape outta it and put glass (or plexi-glass) and put it over the hole. When people ask about the table say "it was beautiful wood, I had to make a bass out of it. if the piece is thick enough go ahead and make a bass lol and if it's not just say you sold the bass

I know a guy who wanted to learn guitar back in the 80s but he couldn't afford to buy one. He borrowed his friend's Strat, put it on his parent's coffee table and drew round it. He then cut it out and shaped it, and then threw on a neck that he bought cheaply. It's actually got a circular stain from a coffee mug on it. Pretty damn cool.

This is excellent. Finally a relic job I can get behind?

Just kidding, pre-fabbed mojo lovers.
