Wow, that was demented.
Those people obviously have some psychological problems that need to be addressed.

IMO, put these guys in the lion's cage. That's fair justice...

This is what happens when you have an unregulated, factory farm. The goal is to make as much money as possible, birth a few calves, pump the cows full of drugs to they produce up to a YEAR beyond what they would naturally and dump them off to McDonalds. Institute a quota system and much of this treatment would go away.

Couldn't watch it for very long. I hope there will be sufficient justice.

On a side note, do cultivated diaries come from diary farms?

There's so much I want to say. This is the reality of supply and demand. The people who work at these facilities lose total respect for the animals that they deal with. Whether it's because they smell bad or they're 'so f***in' stupid', somehow these inhumane ****ers justify their treatment of these poor animals. "Ah well, they're going to the slaughterhouse and they're gonna die anyways. Who the f really cares what I choose to do now?"

I am a meat eater. I love a good BBQ. We, as humans, are carnivores/ominivores. Our eyes are at the front of our heads as opposed to the sides. We all know this is happening yet we push the knowledge of this reality deep down and try not to think of it as we waltz through the meat section of our supermarkets and pick out the best cuts.

You know what? I'm just gonna call it there. I'm being so painfully obvious.

Go organic, people.

I lived on a dairy farm my whole life until recently and have worked in quite a few, I've never seen anything like this.

Also, a couple of you guys missed the fact that this is a dairy farm too, keeping dairy cattle happy has always being paramount in my experience, happy cows produce more milk and are much easier to work with. If anything the guy is hurting his business and making it hard for himself

From what I understand, when an animal is raised/slaughtered under duress, there are a bunch of chemicals/endorphins/whatever released into the meat of their bodies thus changing the flavour/quality of the final product. Humanely treated, cows/chickens/pigs/goats/salmon are happier and more delicious.

Lots of fore slashes there.

I live in a big dairy area in Central Cali, I know a lot of dairy farmers/workers and a few large animal vets, this is not the norm for the industry but it happens far too often.

except that abusing and mutilating your animals is not a lucrative action to be partaking in, as you are damaging the very source of your profit. This is just a case of humans being dicks.

Wow what an idiot.

Though I thought it was funny that the writer feels "cleaner" now that he/she eats mostly fish. Obviously, fish have to die in a very brutal manner in order to get them to the dinner table. I mean does he really think fishermen convey a soothing message to Charlie tuna before they suffocate him?

Seconded... I worked dairy for a while and NEVER saw anything remotely similar to that.

I agree inasmuch as your main statement that wasted animals are a waste of revenue .. and that humans are dicks .. but .. let's assume you are a pig farmer, upgrade and are now able to fit 2250 pigs where you used to be able to fit 1780, confining each pig in a 2" less space and beating them mercilessly into acceptance and to stay in said space, cha chinggggg!!!

It's business, nothing else. This has been going on for ages untold.

apples to oranges. Firstly, we are talking about the farming of dairy, not the farming of flesh. Secondly, forcing an animal into a confined space is very different from stabbing it in the face with a pitchfork.

I just don't get it. What pleasure could anyone get from doing that to those animals? I'm not even an animal rights activist, but I hope someone prosecutes the living crap out of those pinheads. The longer the prison sentence, the better.

I am usually one of the least green-minded people in the room but someone should put this man in jail. NOW.
