Ok. I think I stand corrected

one of my students was talking to me about a Liger, and I laughed at him. I said that they don't exist, and that was a figment of the fictional character Napoleon Dynamite. The rest of the class chimed in insisted that they do exist. They found a site called. www.liger.org, which looks suspect at best. Then I searched youtube, and found this video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zOWYj59BXI

Now I'm confused, so I go to National Geographic and did a search for liger and found results. So, at risk of a huge fail, not just as a teacher that might have to apologize to a student and class for laughing at them (I even put the .gif face palm up on the smart board), but because the I might be convinced that the liger really exists.
Besides a few photoshopped pics, I think that this youtube video might be legit. Curse you intarweb, why can't you be obvious?

Aren't they harvested for their magic skills?

I toss you this: Claim you're tapped out to the point of stupidity. It's saved me a number of times, hopefully moreso in the future.

Edit: To us, not your students.

Yeah, there are also tiglons which is a cross between female lion and male tiger. Liger is vice versa. C'mon, teach, quit acting like a lifeguard.

Actually, that National Geographic video is pretty convincing.

Yep. They exist. The zoo here had one until about 5 years ago when it died.

I'm still waiting for evidence of weeblewobbles.

Do any of the online "liger" pics have some sweet shading on the upper lip?

I could definitely understand a Lion wanting to get down with a lady Tiger...sometimes them stripes is mezmerizing.

I think the point is moot because I don't believe MakiSupaStar exists.
