Ok, so its against your religion to wear a helmet?
Fair enough, its against the law to not wear a helmet when riding a bike. So dont ride the thing then!

I was unaware of that, again stupidity!

Your religion should not make you excempt from the law.

I dare say, for the most part, its only going to affect them and thier chances of living.

... um, is this nanny-state law even necessary in the first place? If he wants to ride without a helmet, I say let him do it.

If they want to endanger their lives in the name of religion, why stop them?

It's not like you guys are going to lose anything if they don't wear helmets.

Yes, and when that helmetless idiot turns himself into a meat popcicle and it's discovered he doesn't have insurance, guess who ends up footing the bill for his medical care for the rest of his life?

I would have no problem abolishing the helmet laws, so long as doctors and hospitals were allowed to refuse service to anyone who doesn't have private insurance.

It doesn't.

The law is that you must wear a helmet unless you are a Sikh wearing a turban. If they ride a motorbike wearing a turban, they are obeying the law.

Fine. He can wear the turban. I'll just give him a little love-tap at 70mph.

If he wants to be unsafe, fine! Go ahead! His family is NOT allowed to sue the other driver involved in his eventual wreck because he dies from no helmet.

Ditto. Don't leave the driveway without one, I'm not gonna kill me, It's the guy in the car next to me wants me to die. Note; I still have the helmet saved my head. Just a reminder.
