It's OK but it'll never compare to the real heft and power of a vintage all-tube PC

True emulation? I don't know, however I run a Citrix Remote Desktop Client on mine either locally or through Java on Safari and have no problems running all the big standard PC business programs. In fact, I was posting through the virtual desktop today at some points and on a PC during others.

Why would you emulate windows when you can just run windows on the newer macs?

Yeah, I think you can run Windows pretty well through Bootcamp, Parallels, etc... I'm not sure if there is full support for graphics accelerated gaming yet or not...haven't had any reason to look into it.

I believe any Mac with an Intel processor can run windows just fine (actually really well).

I have nothing against Macs, if I crapping out money i would have one but are they worth twice the price and 1/4 the software?

IMHO no.......

Dual booting is just one of the options...that's what boot camp does but Parallels and other programs offer virtual computing options that run Windows inside of OSX and you can switch back and forth between them.

I also have nothing against Macs but I just don't like the extremely proprietary attitude of Apple. I'm a tweaker, tinkerer, builder and overclocker and Apple doesn't want me doing that on their systems. I realize their reasons for it but that plus cost plus gaming keeps me from even considering the Apple route. Although I will be getting an iPhone within the next two months.

I wanted an iphone real bad until I found the Samsung Instinct. A better phone for my needs and at $129 and $69.99 a month I am much happier.

Any and all Intel based Apples can run Windows. So anything from a Mini to Pro

It's a standard function of OS X since the latest 10.5 build, but also available as beta for 10.4 IIRC. This on Macs that have Intel hardware, of course, all of them have had it for a while. Everything works just fine with both OS X and Windows, so there's no driver issues or anything.

For emulation, I assume Parallels Desktop is the leading software.. they've also posted performance charts on their site here: http://www.parallels.com/en/desktop/

Boot Camp FTW!

Seriously. That's one of the few things I miss about my old Mac Book. I just could not get over the lack of gaming.

Console gaming? *vomit*

*edit*

Before the fanboys attack, I have been a console gamer since I was a kid. I had a 360 and Wii and now pretty much sit with a PS3.. it's probably going to be sold soon though.

Yeah I saw that one. Unfortunately (I say that for several reasons) I have to be on AT&T because they get the best signal at our land out in the country. I'm switching from Verizon. I don't think I'd want to go with the Instinct either way though because of low internal memory (they are all short on that compared to iPhone) and lack of wifi.

I know what you mean...I remember spending hours on the Atari 2600 when I was a kid...with its single button and 8 position joystick.

For the games I mostly play these days though computers offer a better play experience over the consoles.
