Because somebody is still watching Carlos Mencia's show.
Somebody has to be, because they are apparently still making new episodes.
I know we've got 200 channels that need to fill 24 hours a day, but how does that show stay on and Arrested Development gets canceled? |

Sucks, but true...
FWIW, his show is horrible but his old standup isn't quite as bad... some of it is even, dare I say... funny.

And why do they have him keep dressing up all of a sudden?
I don't know anyone that watches the show by the way.

Of course, the ratings hurdle for Mencia to stay on the air at Comedy Central must be a lot lower than it was for Arrested Development on Fox.

I was lucky enough to see Mitch Hedberg live. I'll never forget it. | In college I used to practically live at the Punch Line in San Francisco on weekends and occasionally performed. I hung out with a lot of comedians after their sets. Offstage Mitch was shy, really polite and a lot more serious about his craft than people might think. Years later I saw him in Sacramento with Lewis Black and Dave Attell and afterwards he remembered me or was at least nice enough to pretend he did. |

Until they pull reruns of that off the air, Mencia's a choirboy.

"Project Runway" is a real dog. My sister and her husband watch it religiously.
I mean Heidi Klum is OK, but she's hardly on it. It's mostly grown men crying.
I'm kinda liking "Burn Notice" on USA. but yeah - in general - tv sux

As best I can tell, it was a combination of burnout (he and Neil were really the only writers) and feeling like he didn't have the level of control he wanted.
As for Mencia, as far as I can tell, he loves stereotypes. Making (unfunny) jokes based on them is his only shtick. |

He left because his plan for starting the show was to make fun of stereotypes and play them off as stupid. All it did was add fuel to the fire, so he quit. |

I don't know a single person that watches American Idol, but apparently it's still more popular than air. Similarly, I don't know a single person that thinks Carlos Mencia is funny, but there he is. |

2: BEANNNNERRRR
3: DERDERDERRRRRRRRRRRRR
