I was expecting to see one of those really huge, fat and wide trees you could pretty much live inside of.

Geez! That so-called "scientific discovery" story is a bunch of crappy speculation, and nothing more. Me.. I don't believe it at all. Completely unverifiable. Just someone or a group wanting attention, needing to publish and be in the spotlight.

The visible tree itself isnt that old. The plant is. They used carbon dating on the root system, which has gotten so big the visible tree could be destroyed and the root system could grow a new one.

Seriously, that thing doesn't look any older than the trees in my backyard. I'm not saying it's not, but come on, did they check every friggin' tree on the friggin' planet?
