Olympics - Wow!!

So I have been watching this morning and Great Britain is 3rd in the medal table!!

That's amazing for such a small country as us - we usually just miss out on the medals!

I am stunned!!

I know! I was amazed we're so high up. Probably won't last when the athletic medals start going out though.

23rd in the marathon for Paula Radcliffe though, dissapointing. She's been plagued with injuries.

I can't believe that GB is above Australia! You usually get loads more medals than us...?

We have dominated the cycling - why is that I wonder?

Maybe British cyclists are used to polluted cities?

I'm a bit disappointed that we're in 5th. I was expecting 3rd or so, but hey, top 5, can't complain.

And there is still plenty of time for us to overtake you.

Phil Ligget says that GB is having such success at cycling because they've sunk 20 or 30 milllion dollars into their program. Or programme. Whatever, they're fast!

Could it have something to do with Great Britian's athletes have more exposure to air pollution, so they feel at home in China?
Seriously, congratulations.

When I was born, until I was 3, I live near one of the most polluted roads in Britain. It never did me any harm. *cough cough hack cough* HOLY CRAP IS THAT MY SPLEEN!!

I don't know how those kids deal with the pressure. When that little girl from the US missed her last tumbling run in floor X and fell, I could feel her pain.

I believe that its because they went around the track faster than the other competitors.

Yeah GB is doing well. I've been pretty stoked on US coverage, because they have been doing some coverage of Olympians beyond the US. I saw one on a British cyclist, and one on the Jamaican world record holder and gold medalist for the 100m dash.

It's not really luck, it's doing well in the events thus far.
