Yes Uli Behringer has signed a deal with Wal-Mart and you can now purchase select models of guitars, basses and amps, and goodies bearing the behringer name....

You have to take a look around their site: http://www.firstact.com/

They make high-dollar custom jobs, too.

Unless you just don't like Behringer or Wally World, I don't see why. Should give you even lower prices on their gear.

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=8072035

not all the stores have the items in stock as of yet, as they are just now shipping but look at their website (Wal-Mart) and you will find a few products already listed for sale

trust me on this My wife works at the Corporate level at Wally!

See, he knows too. The Wal-Mart by me is open 24 hours. Where else you gonna be able to pick up an amp at 1AM, or a spare 210 cab at 6AM on a Sunday?

I hope they leave some gear out to jam on. This would be one more place for me to go jam when I get the urge to buy a bass.

Sweet, thanks for the link. I totally believe you.

My sister-in-law and her husband work in the Bentonville distro center. I'll have to call her this week and find out what she's seen around the warehouse headed out this way.

Well, you're right.

I am just associating Wal-Mart with low-end products that aren't of the best quality.

I can totally see this happening now. Im at a session at like 3 in the morning. A mic goes bad and instead of giving up with go to walmart to pick up a new mic. We finish the session with a behringer mic and I cry myself to sleep.

In reality I think this is a good thing. Is this catering to bass snobs, NO. Will it get alot more kids intersted in music and make it more available to them, YES. Its totally for beginners, this is not for experienced musicians, well maybe if they need to get something in the middle of the night.

Whether you like Behringer or not, it's a great move! I'm surprised Fender & Ibanez havn't gotten in on the act! Many folks are intimidated by musical instrument stores!

It's a great business move. Great way to get more instruments in the hands of kids at reasonable prices. I don't see how that can be a bad thing.

I've never really understood anyone saying they hate Wal Mart. Why hate a store? Don't tell me you hate what they stand for . . . that's a cop out. OK, I'm done.

It would be cool if they carried some of the effects pedals.

Have you ever been to a walmart? Worst customer service ever. Ive never had anyone help me, though its not really needed to to buy a towl rack and pack of dorritos.

If GC and Sam Ash wont employ people who know something about instruments what makes you think that wal-mart will. They are selling packaged units that shouldnt need too much explanation. I wouldnt hold your breath for walmart to be carrying anything that couldnt be explained in a 5 page manual.
