My mom just told me during dinner (she works at my school)
I came to school and saw some guy standing in the girls bathroom.. but he seemed at ease so I didn't check if something was up.
About 2 minutes after me some girls from my class come in and say there's a girl lying on the floor crying..
Turns out, about 5 minutes later or something she swallowed a whole lot of pills and slashed her wrists really deep.. She was taken to the teacher's lounge which was afterwards covered in blood... Unconscious a couple of times and such.. Rushed to the hospital..
Freaky to think that if I came to school 6 minutes later I would have seen some girl trying to kill herself

| | | | i would give anything to be back in highschool again. It is funny, (not Ha-ha), but maybe more ironic that as a high school kid, you hate school, and the stress that goes with it ... but it isn't until you become older, and hopefully wiser that you realize that it wasn't too bad ... sure, it sucks when you're in the thick of things, but that is the whole point, SURVIVING IT!!! ... we all did it and we all do it day to day, and it is sad because all this person preobably wanted was someone to listen to them and care for three seconds about someone other than themselves... very sad to hear...

I wasn't in the girls bathroom (which is no awkward place for me to be since I'm a girl ) but the bathrooms are at the end of the hallway where my locker is and the stairs are..
But he was just standing there as if he was waiting for someone.. So I didn't pay much attention to it.. If he had been acting any differently I would've gone and checked it out.. But nothing was wrong at the time I passed it.. When my classmates passed by she was crying.. 5 minutes later she was trying to kill herself

I hope she ends up ok.

One of my best friends hung himself in high school, there are still people that I know that are dealing with it three years later. It has also spawned several more at that school. 3 in the last 3 years.

When I was living in residence my girlfriends roomy tried to commit suicide and me and my girlfriend found her in the bathroom, slit wrists swallowing a bottle of pills. not good. Messed me up a bit for a while and both me and my girl talked to a shrink a couple times about it. it helped alot. The girl lived because we found her. if we had not... she would have died within the half hour. craziness.

its honestly making me mad that kids these days are so stupid and cant put up with normal society. Suck it up and realize that people have it way harder than you. | Go back and read what kydnav posted about the girl's family problems, chiefly that her mom is dead and she is having problems with her father. While it is true that many kids today are "emo" and cry out for attention, it seems that this particular case is much more than that. To assume that people who commit suicide and people who are suffering from mental disorders are just "whiny" and "attention-seeking" is ignorant, IMO.

She wanted to be found before she died, otherwise she wouldn't have done it in a public place. Go do some research on suicide and you will see that 90% of the stuff about this girl SCREAMS attention.
A few quick facts:
Those that really want to be dead, just kill themselves. There is no note, and they do it in a place where they know they wont be found until they are dead.
A note means that the person wasn't fully committed to it and that they were still thinking about others and the impact that it has on others.
Sure, her mom is dead, maybe her mom was the only one that paid attention to her. To top it off, she is having problems with her dad. She tries to kill herself. To me that says that she wants her dad to pay attention to her, not that she wants to be dead. As usual, you have jumped to a conclusion without really knowing what you are talking about. BTW I am trained to deal with both those that are grieving a loss due to suicide and to deal with those that are potential suicide risks.
