One man actually can change the world

If you dont think one person can seriously change history, you should read this.

On 28 June 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, and his wife, Sophie, Duchess of Hohenberg, were shot dead (while travelling in an open-topped car) in Sarajevo, capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, by Gavrilo Princip. - straight from wikipedia. This assassination set off a series of people backing up their word about their alliances. Long story short Germany tries to crush france in WWI along with Austria Hungary and the Ottoman empire, but when the Germans lost France punished Germany harshly which set Germany into a desperate state of being poor. Then Hitler came and promised the Germans jobs, which he fulfilled by expanding thier military. This then brought on WWII when some atomic bombs were dropped and the nuclear arms race begins. Entire generations are lost in all these wars and a whole ethnic group is almost destroyed. The starting pointed was because one guy was mad at a tyrant and shot him. Without Gavrilo Princip European history would be dramatically diffrent. Just a thought to think about.

Prior to world war 1, the major powers were basically itching for war. The whole continent was one big powder keg. If it wasn't Franz Ferdinand, then it would have been something else.

Also Russia got stomped into submission in WW1 which led to the overthrow of the Tsar by the Communists.

The world was a bit of a powder keg before WWI, so pretty much anything could have set that off.

And there are lots of people who have changed the world, what about the first europeans to move to the US, starting off what became one of the worlds biggest powers in only a couple hundred years.

What about the greeks who came up with modern mathmatics as we know it?

etc etc etc

It wasn't because of one guy. It was a group called the Black Hand, and they carried out the assassination under the order of the Serbian military.

He is actually responsible for many of the advances in cinematic editing and special effects. He also had a very large part to play in the rise of the 'blockbuster'. I guess you could say he changed Hollywood.

You heard the man.

My father gave Merv Griffin the idea for Jeopardy! after a round of drinks and automotive banter with John Delorean.

Actually the black hand threw a bomb that missed Ferdinand and the driver sped up and got lost. When he turned the corner Princip looked up ,saw that it was The archduke, pulled out a pistol and shot sophie then The Arch duke. Princip, though, was part of the black hand.It is also called the black fist in some sources.
