It's been said before: The bass player is the loser of the band. That's true even in video games. He gets the easiest job, and rarely is there any glamour to be found in acting even the most complicated bass lines. Everyone else in the band just looks at you and nods that yeah, you did your job, now get out of the way of the guitar solo.

Playing with your fingers is also more tiring. After numerous songs I often found myself falling back to playing the old way in order to rest.

Other interesting details include the lack of a whammy bar (real basses don't have them),

My p-bass's action is about half an inch off the board. people have trouble playing it.
Anyway, the article was fine. The first paragraph pissed me off. |

The sentences I have trouble with: Quote: |
Mad Catz elevates the status of the bassist in home rhythm games with a new instrument that's designed specifically for bass players.

worth the premium if you're a dedicated bassist.

Okay, I have no problem with people who play this video game.
I have no problem with bassists playing this game.
But when playing this game you aren't playing bass.
Just the same when I play Gran Turismo I am not driving a car.
It's like saying a Logitech steer and pedal controller is aimed at Formula 1 drivers.
It might be good finger practice though, but it's not for being a bassist. |

Not in any band I have played though. Literally. |

Anyway, the article was fine. The first paragraph pissed me off. | Or you could have him play your 7 string without having all the strings ring out.

The guitarist always ends up with girls that make turkey noises, anyway.

Hey, if I win at SuperMario, I guess that makes me a really awesome, tiny racecar driver with a big mustache.
