Ohh damn that's tough. I always get that duty here, that last trip to the vet, because I'm the only male in the family, so it's the Dad Thing to do. It never gets any easier.

Beautiful dog.

I know the feeling dude

Just yesterday was looking at pictures of my old dogs, had had the 3 of them since I was young, and they all died within about 18 months of each other (two from same litter, other one wasnt much younger).

It hurts, but remember the good times you had with the pup

My screen shot is of my last pack. They have all passed on, the last was the Kelpie three years ago. They all moved down here to the Oregon coast with me from Seattle and spent a few years running the beaches. I think they had a much better time being rural dogs than city dogs.

This shot is on North Mtn just outside Darrington, WA, across the valley from Whitehorse

I miss them very much. The nice thing is I now get two host two other yahoos. Taking care of animals is one of the highest honors I will ever experience.

If you're able, be an animal parent. There are so many animals out there waiting for good homes.
If you aren't able to own a pet, maybe volunteer down at your local animal shelter. These places are usually under funded and under staffed. They will usually let voluteers take the dogs out walking.

i might get a dog around spring time. i am in the process of finding a job so less expenses is better right now. i will probably contact the local lab rescue. so many great dogs need homes just because they were hyper puppies. i could use a running buddy
