Online IQ Test?

What might be a good online IQ test? Have you ever tried one and do you think it was accurate?

My opinion based on posted IQs from online tests is that either the tests are poor or people are lying. I've done a couple and they are usually higher, sometimes much higher, than what I scored on a real IQ test.

Yeah, well, that's what I was thinking. I don't know if there are any that might be considered accurate. I get the impression many are just for fun. Aren't there any that one might say are "real" tests?

Go to the mensa sight and take the practice test, doesn't give you a number, but it will tell you if you have the ability to pass their test or not. I should get around to taking the real one

There are no accurate online IQ tests. They always overstate the IQ. Many tests online don't even ask for your age (when IQ is your reading age expressed as a percentage of your actual age)

According to the internet, I'm darn near a genius!

I'll just leave it at that.

Go to a Mensa meeting; you'll see why IQ is overrated.

Actually, I did that before getting back here to read your suggestion. Interesting test! Didn't think I did that well, made a couple of dumb mistakes and had a couple I just finally gave up on (scrambled words). The results said I should be able to pass the real test, but I think they were just being nice.

Oh well, back to mediocrity.......

On the real test you only have to get something like 50% or something. Just how the test works.

Ya, that is why I haven't taken the real test yet. But it does look good on a resume.

Really? Well, out of 30, I gave up on two,and missed five others...so if you don't count the two, maybe I did OK.

I should take the test tomorrow. I have a degree of short-term memory loss, and it would be all new again....

When I took the test I gave up on two and missed two. I just want to do it for the bragging rights.

Online IQ tests are a very good predictor of how smart you are. If you take the test and believe you're as smart as the results say you are, then you are probably exactly smart enough to buy the crap advertised at the host's web site.

Am I the only one who does not understand how someone can concieve a test that measures intellectual quotient where people can actually score HIGHER than the man who made the questions?

I mean, how the heck can someone with, say, 135 IQ, come up with something that will tell the difference between 160 and 165?

Yes. But you don't need accurate IQ tests for comparison with the results that your friend received an hour ago
