Hello TB land.
I organize a charity art show once or twice a year called Mercy, Not Sacrifice. It's a group show of art & music, and any money we make we give it all away to charity. 100%. It's volunteer-driven, DIY, grass roots, lending a hand. No one makes a dime except for the charities. This time around we're giving to Mercyships Mercy Ships
& to Han Schneider Int'l Childrens Foundation Han-Schneider International Children's Foundation |
two very cool charities doing incredible things in the world.
The show is still being organized, still in formative stages, but I want to throw this out there so people can get their momentum (these things take time). Tentatively scheduled for May 2012, at a gallery in downtown Los Angeles.
If anyone would like to perform shoot me an mp3 or soundcloud of your stuff. If any artists want to donate a piece, that would be rad. I can't pay, & I'm asking for permanent art donations, but if you perform I can offer a tax certificate letter, for a tax credit. All media, any art form or performance art is acceptable, just know that there are some children present so please be mindful of that re: content. the theme is mercy.
Of course the artwork doesn't have to be from L.A. It can be sent in.
Any questions shoot me an email cxkang@yahoo.com.
-Chuck

That song is a pretty good representation of our overall sound.

Amy White of West Indian Girl is scheduled to perform with her band & she'll DJ, maybe my friend Jane who sounds like Brooke Fraser from Hillsong. She's really good. |

Am I going to have an opportunity to share a spliff with Maki? I just may...

I can only offer a tax receipt for your donation but that can be just as good you know. Or just do it help, not for the money. |
