I know there's a lot of Firefox users, but how many of you are Opera users?

I use Opera and I quite like it.

The new Opera tries to be a lot of things. Because of that, it feels cluttered to me.

while I can agree, I've found myself able to get used to it. I love that opera has all the features I'd ever need (unlike with firefox, for which I'd have to install it all myself) and it's also a very fast browser.

on a Mac, I suppose, on windows I've found it to be quite slow, however.

I switch between Opera and Firefox. I like Opera, but I like Firefox better.

What is the difference between it, FF and Chrome? They seemed to be all the same whenever I try them out. Minus the add-ons I can have for FF that I couldn't get for Chrome and Opera. Does Chrome now have add-ons like FF? What about Opera?

I use Opera because it's the quickest browser. The option to not load crap on the sites helps a lot too, when on slower networks.

I don't use many of the many functions though.

FF has the private browsing option. Handy when.. Well. I guess everyone knows what it is mainly used for. A lot of addons as well. Quicker than IE.

Chrome.. Well I haven't tried Chrome. Can't say much about it. I doubt many addons have been released.

Opera is quicker than both, and has an option to cut loading the crap on sites, which is excellent for slower networks. It is also the browser with by far the most "extras". Like filesharing. The private browsing option for Opera is also better than FF's, because you can choose which tabs you have open that leave a trace on your computer or not, unlike FF. The addons for Opera is called "widgets" (why, I don't know). I think they are generally better made than those for FF, but it's like one fifth as many

Opera has all the features you'd ever really need. With firefox, I found myself adding tons of add-ons that I'd never end up using. With opera, it has everything ever need, cool features that I'd want, and some extra that I might not ever use, but I like it because I don't have to deal with adding anything. It either has it or doesn't. And I don't think there's been anything I've wanted that it doesn't have. The only thing it (rarely) suffers from is because it's not used as widely as firefox, it doesn't have the greatest compatibility. But for the most part I haven't experienced many problems. Hotmail is one I've been unsuccessful in enjoing, but I despise hotmail anyway. Gmail ftw.

opera's latest version is really great, including all of those features and improving their interface (like ctrl+f took firefox's influence)

the widgets are really the only thing I don't care for with opera. They're well made, but it's just extra things I won't ever need or use.

Firefox has gotten so bloated and slow. Opera runs a lot faster but it crashes a few times a day. Fortunately it lets you restart from where you left off, so it will reopen with all the browser tabs etc. that you had open when it crashed.

I'll try it. The last time I tried it it was no better than Firefox.

Edit: Installed it, ran it. It crashed when I tried to open the preferences.

Opera is pretty hokey on the Mac, IMO. I use Firefox mostly, sometimes safari.

Yeah the latest version has crashed on me quite a few times more than it used to. I'm sure it's some bug that they'll get fixed.

As for firefox, I've always found it slow, but the latest version is definitely slow. I much prefer Opera's speed.
