Is there a way to block ads when using the Opera browser? I've found some sites that give some long way of doing it but, in Firefox, there is AdBlock. Anything like that in Opera? I like the browser but not the ads.

In Opera, they have a content blocker. You right click anywhere on the page, click "Block Content" and then you simply click on all ads you want to block. It may not be as efficient as the ad-blocker that does it automatically for you in Firefox, but it still works.

What it does is it blocks all ads from that host, so say the ad was from example.com, then it would block all ads from example.com. To block one specific instance of an ad, you can hold shift while selecting the ad.

Also, a pop-up blocker is included in Opera. It should be automatically set to "block unwanted pop-ups" but check this under Settings>Preferences

Thank you. I tried blocking ads at Weather Underground and after I did that, it would reload with different ads from different sellers. I was chasing my tail there. I think I'm sticking with FF. I like the speed of Opera but those ads don't help anything.

This happens sometimes because different ads pop up, the ads are randomly generated and as such ads from different servers will pop up.

To each their own of course, but I love Opera.
