OTC motion sickness prevention

Hey Folks,

Any recommendations for products you've used? Successfully?

It's not nearly as bad as when I was a kid, but every now and then I'm susceptible to motion sickness. On Monday I've got a boat gig...a four-hour bay cruise. The issue isn't so much the length of time, although cruises this long generally include a loop out beyond the Golden Gate bridge...which means rough waters even on an otherwise calm evening. Anyway, along with being out there for so long, we're also on the top deck, which means I'll really feel the motion. Couple that with the fact I'll have my nose in charts for a fair chunk of the time and...I'm a little concerned.

On the last cruise of this length, I kept my lunch down, but drove home with a nasty headache. I'd love to leave this one feeling fine and free of embarrassment, so I'm grateful in advance for any recommendations.

I've had excellent luck using original formula OTC Dramamine as a sleep aid. I know this isn't terribly pertinent to your situation, but the same medication has worked rather well for a number of my friends and family whom suffer from motion sickness. They end up falling asleep too, though. Maybe try the non-drowsy formula they offer.

I don't get motion sickness often, but my mom does. Dramamine works just fine for her.

Eating ginger actually helps too.
