Ouch - this kid's in BIG trouble with his dad...

Sign in to disble this ad
He just wrote off his old man's £275,000 ($440,000) supercar.

BBC - Newsbeat - Son writes off his dad's £275,000 supercar

If the kid took it without permission, he has some serious 'splaining to do. But if his dad gave permission, then perhaps he should count himself lucky that the only damage done was to the car.

20 year olds and 225mph cars do not mix well.

Think the car looks bad? Wait until you see what the boy looks like after the dad 'talks' to him.

* Differences include but are not limited to: type of car, location, maximum velocity, immense wealth, and having actually happened.

Quote from the article: Police are investigating whether he was speeding when he lost control of the car on the 50mph road.

Ya think?

Well, I'm not proud of it, but I did flip my dads truck last summer. Differences include: I had permission to take the truck, no one else was in the car with me, I didn't write it off, and dad ended up getting twice the value for his truck than he paid.

Reminds me of when I was a kid. I came damn near to crashing my dad's pride and joy, a 1962 Lincoln Continental that he let me drive to work one day. Makes me sweat now just recalling it.

I was under the impression that car was a lot closer the the million dollar mark. That is the same car that has held the Top Gear track record for a street legal car for the past several years.

0 - 60 in less than 3 seconds, don't you need a pilot license for that? T'was a flying machine! Not anymore though

Fact: it's difficult to keep a car on the ground at 225mph.

I'm presuming that dear old Father does have insurance, yet Sonny Boy might be cut off from the family trust fund after this incident.

I doubt the young man was speeding. It was probably a design flaw in the car that caused it to crash.
