I am just curious if anyone else here does parkour or free running. Its pretty much what Ive been doing all summer because there is nothing else to do in this town. If you don't know what it is, look it up.

I did it for a summer and a half. In the end, I turned out to prefer trials, so I am back to them.

Parkour's really nice, though. Good for you and pretty impressive for others.

I tried back in highschool,
tried to do a backflip landed on my neck, knocked the wind out my self and cried in front of a group of pretty girls.

In my book, trying to do a backflip out of the blue is not really parkour

I do a little bit, but not much time to play here, or any good place. I'll be looking into it when I get back to Hawaii, tho. After 4 years in the Army, I'm getting pretty bored of running on straight and flat.

Peace,
Greg

Yay! someone knows it well. Flips are sometimes parkour, depending on how they are used. For example, on my very first day, my friends and I were trying to jump a fence at a baseball field. They just vaulted it, I thought I would dive and roll, but my foot hit the fence, and I started to fall and was definately going to smash my face, but freaking out in mid-air, I accedently did a frontflip (unfortunately I can only do them accedentally!) and landed on my feet. Man I wish we caught that on tape!

I have been working on flips to, aka failing at doing flips, but I have been able to land on my shoulders and roll pretty well, which is good and useful at least.

Very cool. I've seen it. Very high degree of athleticism.

I hear you. I live in a medium sized town. downside is that there aren't as many buildings as a big town, but the upside is that there are more buildings (enough to keep me busy) than a town thats not that busy (there are a lot here in nebraska), and there aren't as many people.

Playing Mirror's Edge is the closest I've ever got to it. I don't think I have the athleticism or the nerves to pull it off in real life.

I love running around and climbing stuff so I've been thinking about taking up parkour. I've held off of it for awhile now because I wanted to stay healthy for pole vaulting... but now that the seasons over I can do whatever I want!

The same discipline as motorcycle trials. An obstacle course which you must travel through without placing feet on the ground.

Here's some street trials, which is pretty much what I'm into.

I am broke, and built like a pole, so I am just going to have to settle for real life. More f-ups then a video game, but I'm not very experienced yet. I do play the Prince of Persia games, but I doubt that some of the wall run lengths are humanly possible.
