I am so tired right now that I am nearly passing out in my cube at work. Coffee does not keep me awake at all. Any ideas on how to keep my eyes open? I have thought about hanging hooks on chains from the drop ceiling and inserting those in my eyelids. There is also the fake glasses with eyes painted on them. Or I could just give in to sleep and rig my cube entrance with some trip wire attached to bells or tin cans. |

Try having a snack, that usually wakes me up.

I find that pseudoephedrine (sudafed) helps (works faster if you consume with a hot beverage like tea). Coffee doesn't really help, but if it's strong enough it will keep me awake if not fully cohesive.

Heroic alcohol consumption combined with living in a desert make that a constant battle. It's just one of those days. My job isn't helping anything either.
I think the eye hook idea is a good one. Or a variation on that could be to use toothpicks to prop my eyes open like they do on the cartoons.
Have a nice holiday weekend TB OT people! |

Also,in the morning, get yourself some coke, pour in some coffee. Its called coffeine shot and works like a charm.
But,don't do that everyday or you'll just drop dead.

On those days, I nap durning my lunch 1/2 hour. That helps a lot.
If it's past lunch and I didn't nap, I just keep myself extra busy by picking up as much work (even from other people) as possible. This looks good for me, and keeps me from falling asleep at the wheel.
If both of those fail, I usually hit the bathroom, come back about 20 minutes later (after a quick nap) and say that I wasn't feeling well. |
