So I'm sitting here minding my own business playing some Modern Warfare 2 when my phone goes off from an email. Then a second time. Then a third time. I'm in mid game so I'm not in the mood to check it and figure it was just a delay on previous messages sent and I'm just getting them all at once. After the match I check it to see 3 transactions on my paypal account for WELL over what I have in my bank account. In somewhat of a panic, I went to check and see what the deal was. Luckily, I was able to cancel the transactions before they were claimed but my bank account is still debited for the transactions. So I make a trip to my bank this morning to consult them. All of the transactions have been disputed, my account has been closed and my new account has been opened with a whopping $0.01 in it. With everything that's transpired through this, that's all I really have at this point and for the next few weeks. With no gigs booked this weekend or next, it's going to be fun to see how I pay bills.
Sorry. Just a vent. Although it's pretty sad that people are worthless enough to try and hack into someone's account and try and steal the money that they've earned. God forbid people actually work for something.

| | | Paypal is a must for me so I added their VeriSign digital protection key fob to the account. So far so good. |

Caught a charge on my credit card for a whopping 8,000. Turns out they bought a car, which was promptly removed from their possession.

They absolutely can dip into any account they have paid out to. If it's a credit card, they charge it! |

the second form of authentication can help, but it just slows peeps down, dependent on how paypal will open an account for "forgetting your fob" etc.

I left my wallet at a store on halloween, i go back and they dont have it. I check my online account and the theif had sepnt money at the store with my debit card, i canceled it but they had spent 100$ allready(which i got back).
Like me you will probably get the money back but its the hassel and not having the money that is the pain in the ass. I had no money for over a week and had to borrow cash because my back account was on lock down. |
