| | | PayPal Question - strange payment ?
Sign in to disble this ad
I sold a bass today on eBay. When we got the payment, it said: "The money for this payment is being temporarily held in your pending balance. It will be held for up to 21 days. While it's being held, it won't be available for withdrawal.
We'll move the money to your available balance after 21 days as long as your buyer hasn't reported a problem. It may be available sooner if we can confirm that the item was delivered or, if this is an eBay item, your buyer leaves positive feedback."
Has anyone seen this before? This is news to me & it makes me a little nervous.
Thanks.

I always ask the buyer to leave good feedback early and take pictures of packaging and whole shipment. Or something give them my paypal address directly hoping they just send it that way.. |

They wouldn't release the money until I gave the customer (same guy bought both) and paypal a tracking number, and then it had to be delivered and signed for. My friend refused to send them unless he got the money. The customer freaked out, I gave him my phone number and even talked to him making sure he knew I wasn't trying to scam him, I just had to wait a few days before I could ship them and he freaked out and canceled the payment and I ended up losing both my paypal and ebay accounts because of this. It's why I will never use paypal ever again.

That's their normal deal for people who are new to Paypal, new to Ebay, or who have been inactive for a while, or have only done a very small number of transactions, or who "look suspicious". |

Thanks again.

Talk about childish, Donnie is a little B1XXh. edited to protect the guilty.
Also, this happened back on the 1st of March, so it wasn't me just complaining to hear myself b1tch, it was kind of outta the blue. I was totally taken off guard because I've sold a 1982 San Dimas Charvel guitars and Lee Jackson XLS 1000's and multiple other misc. parts without a single problem before. I had my previous acct. for over 10 years, did I deserve to lose that too?

As per the paypal rules, I simply plugged in the tracking number so paypal can see when it gets delivered. Once the bass was delivered, it took about two days for the money to be cleared into my account. |

It said "cleared, safe to send item" and took like 3-4 days to transfer to bank. So it must be in higher amount. You have to send item out first?? or does paypal tell u it's safe to mail out item but however they will hold until buyer gets item?? $500 was the most amt I ever sold on eBay.

End of story. | the thing is ebay got weird about what you can or can't mention in the post. You can't say "I don't take credit cards" (cause PayPal wants that money earned), or cash...So I just put "Please email me for other payment options" in my listing. I'd rather just get US postal money orders but eBay are funny now a days.
