PC Geeks, please help! Installing some analog synth freeware.

I downloaded some nifty freeware apps that simulate some old vintage analog synths and noisemakers.

The zip files extracts all 10 of the apps and related files into one folder on my desktop. Is there a proper way to "install" them? There is no installer file. The apps all work as is but there are all these other "dll" files and related folders that look to me like they should be located somewhere specific on my PC. Is it OK to leave everything in the folderand just store it anywhere on the hard drive?

Thanks for any help

Link to where I found them:

IT pro for 15 years... (Been a computer geek for a long time.)

If the app's work then you can just leave everything where they are. Or you could move them someplace else on the C:\ drive, or else some place you can find easily like c:\analog stuff

Then what you can do is right click on the file you use to open the program and select Send to then Desk top. This will create a shortcut on your desktop that you can click to start the program, but the files themselves are on your C drive some other place.

Thanks Vanor.

I was concerned because I don't see any installers but I guess I'm OK as is.

Much appreciated!

Welcome

Most software has installers, but there is some that doesn't really need to be installed. In fact for some software when you install it, all it's really doing is coping the files to a some folder on your computer.

The stuff you have is the kind that doesn't need to be installed in the normal sense, but rather just needs to have all the important files in the same folder.
