The size of magnifying glass I would need to see good enough to carve on a pencil lead would make even trying this prohibitive for me.

Props to the guy with the best vision in the world!!

Awesome!

We apparently missed the next sentence though,

"Hours of Dalton Ghetti's work were erased when his son, second grader Malton Ghetti, needed a #2 pencil for his exam at school"

There's an intersting self-reflective aspect to the work. At the very least it's some nifty recylcing.

There not all the same size and the "R" is a bit sloppy.

Since we're nitpicking, you used the wrong form of "they're".

Check out Willard Wigan.

He uses a hair he plucks from the back of a fly to paint his pieces and routinely accidentally inhales his work while trying to make it.

^That's crazy.

Did you all look at the other pics in the slide show? There is one of a screw that is really cool. I guess the artist breaks his sculptures often and he would get frustrated but when he started expecting the break and challenging himself to see how far he could get before the graphite breaks,...the breaks started to become less frequent. (sorry that's a lot of redundant use of the word break)

I used to live there, with her. She doesn't do most of the art, she is more of a "patron of the arts", inviting various artists to come in and completely redo various sections of her house. The pencil stairwell was done by Jason Mecier.

How on Earth does he make those things?
