People lying on ebay listings about prices paid ...why?

So, why do people put that it sells for 550+ shipping when anyone can go to the site and see it sells for $540 shipped? I have seen this a few times recently. I just wont bid on a listing like that even if it is a good price, if they are willing to lie once...probably twice ya know.

Well, the guy has a 99.6% feedback rating and was off by only $10 on the original price. Maybe he meant to say "$550 which included shipping"...who knows? Anywho, somebody got a really nice 2 X 10 enclosure for under $360....shipped!

I'm sick of hearing how every 5 banger on the used market is " the best sounding, playing, blah-blah 5 string I've ever owned".

Dude, he was off by $10(2% of the sales price). Not only that, it's not completely insane to round to the nearest $50. Pretty reasonable if he was going off of memory.

Also, every used 5-string has a tight and well-defined B-string, despite the fact that every 5-string I've ever played had a B-string that played like ass.

Nah, that's okay. We're all starting to sound like a bunch of used car salesmen when it comes to the classifieds.

BTW, I use an Acme B-4 and its a kickin' cabinet. Highly recommended.

Well it is simple. . . people lie about the price they paid so they can try sell the item for more than it's worth. But $10 off isn't too bad.

PS: Let's just say a Dingwall has the greatest B string you'll ever play.

+1 on the Acme Low B-4s, they rock! I'd really like to hear a Dingwall through a Thunderfunk 750 amp and a B-4....

How would you know then, given you have no standard against which to compare? Maybe "playing like ass" is just how B strings feel.
