People are so rude...*rant*

Is it just me or are people getting ruder and ruder?

Because of my hearing, I often find myself asking people to speak slowly, repeat things or both. Sometimes I lip-read people, and I can look like I'm staring rather TOO intently at people when infact I'm trying to work out what they're saying.

More recently it seems that people find these simple things such a big deal, to the point where I've been made to feel like a second-class citizen. I've been kicked off a bus 20 miles from home, publicly humiliated in a shop and even bullied (by a supposed friend) about it.

Why is it that something as simple as speaking a little louder is such a deal?!

Hey, I'll promise not to throw muck, if you promise not to go around searching for things to complain about, and coming on here and begging for attention and sympathy.

Deal?

^^^^You guys are ass wads...^^^^

I have slight hearing loss, as well. In a crowded room, it is very difficult for me to hear a person talking to me. I find myself having to explain years of high volume music have damaged my hearing. Usually the person understands. Sometimes they look at me, oddly. If they don't get it, tough. Your friend sounds like a nit-wit. As far as being kicked off a bus is concerned, I would have refused to leave and let them call the police.

I think I love you.

Like I said, it's not my fault. I'm not the most assertive person in the world so I really couldn't be bothered to argue or say anything.

You're probably right. But since you made this thread, much like you have made a thousand similar "woe is me" threads, be prepared for people rolling their eyes and chuckling.

As this thread wholesomely proves, the world is indeed quite rude. And its not getting better.
But I like it that way.

I'm more than a little deaf myself. I mostly just smile and nod.

My wife does have a tendency to yell, and then smack me if I say what too many times. Kinda reminiscent of Sam Jackson in Pulp Fiction really...............

Ah well.

Life is pain, Fassa. Anyone who says differently is selling something.

Tbh, if you were chucked off a bus it wasn't because you were deaf. After you're on a bus there is very little you can do ,that is related to hearing, for this to happen.

She was probably annoying people by throwing up on their Shergolds.

I have tinnitus and bad hearing too. People I know adjust to it, and those that didn't, I don't bother talking to or listening to, unless I have to. If I do end up where I have to, then, I make sure I hear them by asking them "what?" when I can't hear what they're saying.
It's really not that hard of a thing... I've never been critizied or anything simply for my bad hearing though.

I have bad hearing too, always have. Im constantly asking people "what?" and then I realize what they said before they repeat themselves... people hate that, but I dont really care.

I do that too! It's really compounded by the fact that most of the time I really don't care anyway.....
