I've been trying out the Throwback versions of Pepsi and Mountain Dew and was wondering what some of you think about these. I can taste the difference with Mountain Dew but not so much with regular Pepsi. I think I like the taste of real sugar more than the high fructose corn syrup versions, but some of my friends disagree.
Has anyone else tried these and if so what is your verdict? |

Consuming that much of any kind of sugar in one sitting isn't terribly good for you.

It's funny, I thought the Pepsi tasted much different and the Dew more similar. In both cases, the fructose versions taste more acidic to me, the throwbacks smoother and sweeter. The local market was selling 12-packs at 5/$10 last weekend, and I stocked up. Since the throwbacks were introduced, I can't drink the fake sugar versions anymore, they taste wrong.

It's smoother, slightly sweeter, not as heavy on the tongue, and you don't get that weird aftertaste.

I don't think it's so much that you don't get as much of an aftertaste as it is the aftertaste from the sugar version is different than the one from the HFCS version.
I like both, but I rarely drink soda of any kind. |
