I started working out ... mostly using body weight for my resisance training
-Legs im doing wall sits, lunges, jumping etc
-Upperbody im using the perfect pushup thing my buddy abandoned long ago.
I'm no stranger to being sore ... but i over did it with the push up part of my exercise routine. I AM FLIPPIN SORE... arms and legs meh not so much. My back, chest, shoulders ... ouch ouch
Yesterday was rest day far as resistance training... except for the 30 min jog around the block.
Today is resistance exercise again ... Question: Do I go thru my routine and tough it out? or Should I wait one more day?
Now im off to google my question now that i typed all of this and realized i can probably find the answer on my own

You have overtaxed those muscles and have a bunch of lactic acid built up. You need to get some blood flowing through there to cleanse. I recommend something light like shadowboxing for a little while to loosen everything up. Get a good sweat worked up, then some good stretching.

Being sore is your muscle's way of saying, "Hey, I'm dead.. lemme be." Sometimes your answer should be no, and you should go work them more. Sometimes you should listen to them.
Remember, when building muscles you are literally making microscopic cuts in the muscle, causing them to swell and expand. This makes your muscles. This is why you shouldn't live everyday, no matter what the huge guy at the local YMCA tells you.
We were just learning about this in my Exercise Physiology class the other day.
Oh, and the Perfect Pushup is killer.. no lie.

I've decided to give the resistance a rest for another day and do a wii fit or ea sports active cardio circuit this evening.
I've been stretching and massaging what I can reach. Man it "hurts so good". When i get home i grabbing the electric massager and getting my back.

Your body is a process. Don't get a ton on fitness spark one day, go crazy, then be so sore you can't do anything for a week.

and i found this ... thankfully it's in plain english http://www.livestrong.com/article/16...rfect-push-up/
I don't do the extended range... elbows at 90* and back up 2 seconds down 2 seconds up.
The instability does come into play though...
Looks like im going back to using my dumbells instead of the "perfect pushup" deals. Especially since im just starting back after several months of zero training.

Americans are addicted to thinking that more is always better. It's not.

I made the mistake of thinking I could perform the same level of activity I was at before stopping my exercise routine. Exercising was more of a hobby at that point. I don't have that time luxury ...
30 mins a day of some type of exercise is all im getting now. Yesterday it was riding my bike to and from the train station... that ride up hill all the way home wiped me out.
