The beauty a living in Spokane is I can drive 30 minutes in any direction and leave the light pollution on the horizon. One year I tried to get some photographs using a 35mm AE-1 on a tripod and set to bulb; but lost patience.

I watched for about an hour last night and saw 7 meteors until a bank of clouds moved in about 10:30. It's just as well, as the mosquitoes were eating me alive.

I'll be going out again tonight if the sky is clear. I'll try to get my daughter to come out with me and look. She used to enjoy that sort of stuff when she was younger but now that she's 17 . . . .

they radiate from the northeast, but can be seen across the whole sky...any dark sky away from city lights will do

We'll be out from around 10 to 12, I'm figuring that we should be able to get some good sightings in

got my telescope ready. I am home from practice around 10-10:30...and that's about the time the factory down the road shuts off the big lights (second shift ends) so little light pollution. Can't wait. Hope my son can stay awake!

well, here is my report. i was out on my driveway. i live in a small city but its reasonably dark around my house; at least, i can see a few layers of stars. between 12:30 and 1, i saw 1.5 shooting stars and was buzzed by a bat twice.

i'm calling it good.

nite.

Dammit...I didn't know about it! However I did see one last Saturday nite while at our friends house and he said his daughter seen one too earlier. Could this have been from the same meteor shower? Will they be seen still over the next couple nights?

EDIT: just read the article. Read first as later, duh.

i find the mental image i have of the earth flying thru a cloud of debris. rather than rocks flying into us, to be really cool.

I saw some exceptionally colorful ones Wednesday night, and last night there were so many I lost count.
