Perversion of the term "Rock"

Is it just me, or are lots of people using the word "Rock", and are continually using it way out of context?

Here's my brief list, feel free to join in.

1) Any groups with Dancers don't...
2) Pretty much most Pop acts don't...
3) DJ's are not allowed to...
4) Non-musicians will never...
5) Acoustic acts can't...
6) Orchestras won't...
7) Lip Syncers pretend to...
8) Guitar Hero Players might think they do, but they don't...
9) Actors, it's not even possible to...
10) Comedians (Well not Spinal Tap) wish they could...

ROCK!

ROCK!
Your attempt at elitist humor fails to register a tickle in my funny bone.
All those examples can, and often do, rock. YMMV.

I was 5 when rock and roll was born. Since then, the meaning has changed to describe whatever's popular at the moment. I'm always amused when I ask a young musician what kind of music he plays, and he answers, "Rock!" Who are you or anyone else to say what "rock" is? It's been a hundred different things in the past, and it will be a hundred different things in the future. No one knows what you mean when you say "rock."

I do Munji. I know exactly what a rock is, and so do you! Feldspar is one of my favorites.

One of my favorites is wulfenite (lead molybdate, PbMoO4) particularly the variety from the Red Cloud mine in Arizona. I've risked my life several times to gather the rare mineral there. That was in my young and stupid stage.

Hard Rock

Soft Rock

Blues Rock

Pop Rock

Classic Rock

Prog Rock

"Rock" is a blanket term that covers many different styles and is essentialy meaningless. I still think "Rock" is a little more dicriptive than "Metal" though.

First I rock, then I roll.

Unless I decide to do it the other way.

I'm versatile.
