Gunnery Sgt. John D. Fry was due to return home from Iraq to his wife and three children on March 15, just days before the three-year anniversary of the start of the war. But the diligent Marine who specialized in defusing explosive devices was killed Wednesday after he volunteered to disarm a bomb in Iraq's war-torn Al Anbar province.

This was a friend's son who was killed in Iraq in 2006 while attempted to disarm an IED. My friend (the father) is a killer keys player. I just played with him last week.

I've read a couple of articles about how The Hurt Locker is totally bogus and unrealistic and scoffed at by many soldiers BTW.

I'm still very interested to see the movie, even if it isn't totally accurate - that's just Hollywood, and it isn't a documentary.

Hmm, just saw the movie last night. This puts an interesting spin on things.

Then again, for every movie that comes out, someones never satisfied.
