piano sheet music?

Sign in to disble this ad
A shot in the dark for sure, especially on a bass forum...

I'm looking for free sheet music for piano, specifically music for The Doors. I'm in a Doors trib/coverband and the keyboard player needs help sourcing music. He has four kids and really cant afford to buy the music. If I cant find it on the Internets I will buy it for him.

So... any ideas?

It's a place where people share their sheets with others on the community. Register first and once your account is activated you can search for sheet music of any sorts. Once you find what you want you send a email to the uploader asking for the sheet (politely) and he/she sends it to you. You can upload your own sheets if you have any and trade them with others in return, but trading is not essential. It's a great for finding sheets for free.

No problem, used to use it myself too. But then I got enough money to buy enough books that'll last me a couple o years till I finish through those.

Check out this book if you can't find what you need: http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/a/item...5&item=3563504 It about $25. IMO, if you spring for the book, I suggest you get repaid from your gigs. It seems to me that getting the book will be much faster and more efficient. I'm also curious, it also seems like he doesn't have enough time to learn by ear and practice on his own. This may become an issue down the road, especially with being away from the wife with 4 kids to be looked after. I'm just sayin'...

The book covers the following songs:

Alabama Song
Back Door Man
Been Down So Long
Blue Sunday
Break On Through To The Other Side
Cars Hiss By My Window
Changeling
Crawling King Snake
Crystal Ship
Do It
Down On The Farm
Easy Ride
End Of The Night
Five To One
Hang On To Your Life
Hello, I Love You (Won't You Tell Me Your Name?)
Hyacinth House
I Can't See Your Face In My Mind
I Looked At You
I'm Horney, I'm Stoned
In The Eye Of The Sun
L.A. Woman
L'America
Land Ho
Light My Fire
Love Her Madly
Love Me Two Times
Love Street
Maggie Magill
Moonlight Drive
My Eyes Have Seen You
My Wild Love
Not To Touch The Earth
Peace Frog
People Are Strange
Queen Of The Highway
Riders On The Storm
Roadhouse Blues
Runnin' Blues
See all contents
Shaman's Blues
Ship Of Fools
Ships With Sails
Soul Kitchen
Spanish Caravan
Strange Days
Summer's Almost Gone
Take It As It Comes
Tell All The People
The End
The Soft Parade
The Spy
The Unknown Soldier
Tightrope Ride
Touch Me
Twentieth Century Fox
Unhappy Girl
Variety Is The Spice Of Life
Waiting For The Sun
Wandering Musician
WASP
We Could Be So Good Together
When The Music's Over
Wild Child
Wintertime Love
Wishful Sinful
Yes, The River Knows
You Make Me Real
You're Lost, Little Girl

Depending on which songs, the time frame he has to learn them and how many he has to do, I'd recommend transcribing at least some of them. It's a lot more time and labor intensive, but it's free and it pays off after doing it for a while.

I went to pianofiles.com and found that unless you had a sheet to upload most were not willing to send you what you had requested. Still might hear back from someone though since I just emailed yesterday.

However, I found the entire Doors Complete at scribd.com in pdf form. Score.

As to the keyboardist in the band... I'm going to give him more time, but I do have a few doubts about him. He's a nice guy, but often he is unprepared. I am only asking for two songs a week and usually he doesnt even have those ready to play *properly*. He's also quite a 'busy' player, which always annoys me with keyboardists. He knows how to read Standard Notation so I think the sheet music book will help quite a bit. He's a great guy and has alot of enthusiasm, which counts for alot in my book.

We'll see how it goes.

edit: the other bonus is that now I can brush up on my bass clef reading from the piano scores... not that the basslines are the same most of the time... but sometimes they are.

Hey thanks for the link, I'm emailing to see if I can get a few and it would be great. I actually wanted John Mayer Stitched Up which I can barely find even if I wanted to pay for it. Good luck to the original poster w/ the key guy!
